Last week, a number of us went to the Remnant Radio Conference in Houston. I think we had 30 people form Wellspring represented, which is amazing! Wellspring got more shout-outs than any other church by far since we have played such a huge role in Josh and the Michaels' lives.
We got to see a number of amazing things. I don't know all the stories from other people, but I know I got to be a part of three significant deliverances, where people's lives were changed and the prayer partners who were with me got to see the name of Jesus prove powerful.
Two years ago, I skipped one of the Remnant conferences for one reason or another, but afterward, I heard about all the amazing things God did, and I decided, I'd always make room in my schedule to attend these events. I've heard all the teachings by now, but it's not really about the learning of information so much as it is about the time dedicated to gathering with other hungry worshipers and crying out to God. Conferences, retreats, and worship nights are crucial for fanning into flame the gift of the Holy Spirit within you. At least, they are for me.
To be fair, Sunday mornings and small group meetings are as well, but the only problem with Sundays and small groups is not really with the meetings themselves but with US. We tend to show up with a little less hunger and expectancy when the event is a weekly event. That's why it's so good to break up the flow by going to something special.
The ManChurch Standing Firm Retreat will be one of those special events where you can break from the routine and pursue the Lord alongside other hungry men of the church.
