This week we will be reading Psalm 24 and 27. Originally, i thought I would preach on Psalm 27 because it has some of my favorite devotional verses to pray, but when it came down to it, I was inspired to preach on 27. Here are Hunter and Ray, sharing why they selected these Psalms.

I love Psalm 27 because this is where we get the timeless verse 8.
You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
“Your face, LORD, do I seek.”
In some ways, this verse is a life verse for me. My Christian life radically changed when I stopped viewing God as something theoretical, and I began to experience his presence. The story is a bit long for how I ended up in a place of desperation, crying out for him, but the short story is, during a season of need and crying out, he drew near. In that time the scripture came alive to me as well, and verses like this one started to look like my life. I felt like my life had turned into a desperate "seeking" after God's face. It blew me away to see that God is the one saying "Seek my face."
For some reason, I was surprised to see that. I used to think God wanted us to seek knowledge about him in the bible or seek being good people or seek going to church. But in that season of my life, I realized that God wanted me to seek his face, and I was discovering that seeking his face was not only the greatest thing I could think of, but it also caused me to learn about him, be good, and go to church. When I started doing all of that out of a desire to see his face, it made the Christian life a labor of love.
There are many other verses in Psalm 27 that are life-verse-worthy. Which verses are speaking to you?
Much love,
Dustin
