Thanksgiving, Advent, Family Worship Sunday... and Spiritual Warfare

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. For the last two weeks, we had two guest speakers. Two weeks ago, Tim Summers covered for me at the last minute because I came down with Covid. Thanks, Tim, and great job! Watch The Holy Spirit Person.

Last week, we had a special guest, Zac Tsai. Click here to watch Letters in the Sand. Zac used to be the Youth Pastor at Wellspring back before Nathan and David. I scheduled Zac to preach for me, so I could be in our New Member class... by the way, did you know we had a multi-week long class for new members? We cover 1) vision, values, and spiritual gifts, 2) getting involved in serving and ministering in the church, and 3) answering all the toughest questions about politics, soteriology, eschatology, LGBT, roles of women and men in ministry, and any other hot-button issue the new members want to bring up. That's the class I always make time to be there for.

This week, November 30, is technically the first Sunday of Advent, and the plan was to start an Advent series called For Unto Us, where we will look at some passages in the Old Testament where we see Jesus.  Instead, however, I decided we would need to finish the 4-part series on Spiritual Warfare that I wasn't able to finish when I had Covid. The added challenge is that we'll have all of our children in service for Family Worship Sunday! We'll figure it out.
