Kenya update pt 3

Don't you just wish you could take one of those cute African kids back to the ...
oh wait, that's my son. -Dustin

Day 3 in Kenya was structured much like Day 2: Morning prayer, conference, workshops, outreach with Gideon & Tez and Kariz. We started with prayer, but we were a little more tired of course. During prayer, I felt led to encourage the group to pray specifically for things we wanted to see. We asked God to give us a sign of what he wanted to do, and during that simple prayer, Cat's hands started to burn. She laid hands on Hunter's back and Hunter felt something rush through his body. The overwhelming fatigue that he had been feeling seemed to disappear at that exact moment!

During that rest of the morning prayer meeting, we asked to see healing, deliverances, and salvations. We all sort of dragged ourselves to the prayer meeting, but leaving, we were filled with fresh energy for the day... which was going to be a very long one.

During the conference that day, Hunter spoke. It was a powerful message about the true authority of Jesus, which he said was all about (spoiler alert!) lowering yourself to serve others. Tina and I were both deeply moved. My daughter saw me tearing up and asked if that was the best sermon I've ever heard. I don't have a metric to measure "Best Sermon," but it definitely goes into the "Moved Me To Tears" category. Here's the link to Walking in the Authority of Jesus.

Afterward, we went to our breakout sessions again. My apologies to the prophetic team. I don't know ANY stories from their workshops. I was too focused on the healing workshops, so I wasn't able to attend the prophetic workshop at all. The truth is, I was confident that the prophetic team would crush it, and the only story I know is that the prophetic workshop was one of the largest workshops, and the team delivered accurate words with humility and care. Good job team!

During the healing breakout session, in order to avoid spending too much time on questions, I told everyone with questions to meet me in the back, while everyone who needed healing could come up to the team for prayer. However, I threw my team and the conference attendees a small curveball, in order to pray for healing, each of my team members had to have at least one conference attendee with them. The idea was that IF we saw any healing, we didn't want to reinforce a bad teaching that healing can only be done by the special people. That day, several people reported being healed: there was a demonic deliverance, relief from pain, and one person even had swelling go away on the spot! Here's a brief testimony of Gladys' Healing.

And here's a picture of Michael Smith. We can't tell if he's dancing for joy, or powering up to perform another miracle healing!

After the workshops we split up again. One group went with Kariz to a prison and to a school. The other went with Gideon and Tez to a Maasai village. At the prison, the team was not able to take their phones in, but someone was able to snap a few pictures. Ethan Coco preached his first sermon ever (no pressure!) and gave an alter call where 50 people came forward to give their lives to Jesus!

After the team celebrated, they hopped in a van (leaving the inmates in the capable hands of the Count Me In discipleship process) and went on to a school, where Eric Cummins preached and 70 kids came to Christ! We couldn't help but remember how we had prayed to see healing, deliverance, and salvations, and in a few short hours, we had seen it all.

Here is a pic of Ethan preaching in the prison. No one took pictures of Eric preaching, but there are a few short video clips in the album Kenya 2025 pt 3.

While the other team was visiting the prison and the school, my team was a long bumpy van ride away in a Maasai village. We got to share at a school where we broke the kids into several groups by age. I shared the gospel with my group, and 13 kids prayed for the first time to give their lives to Jesus. There were a number of other kids who had prayed before but were deciding to finally turn away from sin they had been living in.

For a video of me attempting to dance along with some Maasai kids while they sing a few charming Maasai worship songs click Dustin Dancing with the Maasai.

Another group led many people in prayer for salvation, but they didn't get a head count. You can see the moment in a picture below where people are raising their hands.

Also in the same village, we held a surprise church seminar, meaning we were surprised to find out that we were holding a seminar. I volunteered to teach on something I've taught many times, which dealt heavily with forgiveness. One of our prophetic people, Dalise, felt that the Lord was saying something about public forgiveness of sins. Tez, the mission leader to that village, said that it was a confirmation of something she had been hearing in prayer for several days for that village.

Apparently the Maasai people have been oppressed by the three main tribes that have had political power for the last several decades. Interestingly, there was at least one person from each of the three main tribes there in the church. Those three representatives publicly asked for forgiveness in tears on behalf of their tribes, and the elders of this Maasai village forgave them.

The moment was interesting and powerful. I suspect that it will have farther reaching effects that we'll hear about later.
