The Truth about December 25

From the Pastor's Desk Thanks to Nathan for preaching this Sunday. Excellent job! I loved the "Ted Talk" portion, where Nathan gave us some helpful background on December 25 as a Christian holiday. I'm not going to lie; I sort of wanted to see more of that. Maybe I can twist Nathan's arm into making a blog post about it.  If you missed it, check it out below.  Merry Christmas!

Stories you need to hear!

From the Pastor's Desk Here are a few links to some stories, articles, and announcements you need to see. Year-End-Giving First of all, on December 1, I made the church aware of some wish-list projects that we would love to do for the church but we can't afford at the moment. I gave an invitation for anyone who is looking for a worthwhile place to do some year-end-giving to give toward these projects:  New signage for the church property An updated lobby area  An upgrade to the sound system/acoustics of our current worship space.  All three projects are lumped together in a giving section on our give page called "Year End Giving" on the drop-down menu. Here's the Year-End-Giving Announcement I made to the church.  Articles about North Korea from Sunday's Sermon In the sermon yesterday, I included some descriptions of how the North Korean church operates. Here are the links to those articles. If you only read one, be sure to read "Don't Pity Us."...

I'm surprised it took me this long to share...

From the Pastor's Desk A few weeks ago, I was asked to be on a testimony podcast called The Unseen Story where I told my story of being called into ministry, NOT obeying the call, and the wild ride we went on that led us to where we are now. It was surprisingly emotional to tell the whole story like this, so after the episode was released, I didn't promote it or share it much. I sent it to Miguel, who originally connected me with the podcast, and I sent it to my parents, who sent it to about 400 of their friends!  I haven't even shared it with the church yet, but we have Stories and Songs coming up NEXT Sunday (December 8), so I figured this was the perfect time to testify about what God has done.  The story is on YouTube on The Unseen Story page, but the podcast version is better because the hosts of the podcast actually talk about the story before and after.  Enjoy my story, Overcoming Idols , on The Unseen Story podcast.
