In case you wanted to know more

Image
From the Pastor's Desk Every Monday, I get the chance to make this post, highlighting things from the previous Sunday that I want you to know more about. Here are two items from yesterday that you may be wanting to know more about. The Testimony I mentioned in the sermon During the sermon, I referenced a "powerful testimony" that I believe God had me listen to at precisely the right time to influence the WHOLE ending of the sermon. The guy in this testimony lives in the DFW area and references several places around here, which is kind of fun, and he is a pretty funny storyteller overall.  Enjoy! YouTube Link:  16-Year Meth Addiction Gone After THIS ONE MOMENT The Parking Lot Before the sermon, I gave an update on expanding our parking lot. If you missed it, you can listen here: Parking Lot Update .  As part of faithfully taking our next step of obedience, we will say "goodbye" to our big oak tree in front of the church and replace it with 13 young trees, all of...

Mission impact and an eager church

From the Pastor's Desk I've never been more proud to be a part of the Wellspring body than yesterday, Missions Sunday. I already knew about the ministry partners we were connected with and what they were doing for the kingdom, and for the past 3 years, I've been getting to see the spirit that God has put in this local church. Something was different and even MORE awesome when we got all our ministry partners together with the people of Wellspring.  Sunday evening, we had a chance to hear from each of our ministry partners, and during that time, it struck me just how much impact we are having in our own backyard and around the world. I was proud to see and even moved by the enthusiasm and eagerness of the people of Wellspring. This church wants to get involved, to get its hands dirty doing the ministry's work.   Thanks for being such an awesome church! The next event in our Missions Week is Bless our Ministry Partners Night on Wednesday night. We will focus on praying f...

Kingdom work sometimes means turkeys, S'mores, and theatrics

From the Pastor's Desk Missions Week starts on November 10 with Mission's Sunday. We have ministry partners around the country and the globe, and right here in our backyard.  On Saturday, we partnered with one of our local ministries, run by Chuck Watson. We got to help him put on Fall on the Ranch! We got to minister to single parents and their children. We gave away turkeys and sides for Thanksgiving meals. We treated these families to horseback riding, fishing, face painting, crafts, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and a FREE garage sale with furniture, bikes, clothes, etc. And, of course, we had an entire station just for S'mores.  One mother I talked to said that Ranch Day is the only time she feels free to let her kids run around and have fun. Not a second after she said that, her two youngest girls ran by with their faces painted and leaped onto the back of the hayride as it pulled away for its final hayride of the day.  After the hayride, we gathered everyone for ...
