A few weeks ago, a missionary couple from Nepal visited the church. I made a mental note to reach out to them, just to connect. Shortly after that, I got to share the gospel with two women from Nepal who are living in the US. One person was not very interested to hear about Jesus, but the other responded with, "Oh, now I have to believe!" She didn't exactly pray to give her life to Jesus, but she was excited to go read the bible and pray to Jesus because she'd never heard of a God who speaks to his people.
Because of this, I had Nepal on the brain. Then, as many of you know, there was a horrible flash flood disaster that has decimated several villages and cities in Nepal. You've probably seen some of the shocking videos on social media. If you're like me, you've seen the destruction and had that common feeling of, "I wish there were something I could do to help."
This week, I finally connected with the missionary couple, and I discovered that they still have an NGO operating in Nepal. They are currently raising funds to get aid to the many people who now have nothing. Apparently, no one is able to even reach many of these people except for the Nepali military, which this missionary couple is working directly with.
This is a chance to get aid directly to the people who need it, and she said that after the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, the government collected huge amounts of aid from around the world, but when they distributed it, the Christian people groups in Nepal were overlooked. This missionary couple is making sure that our Christian brothers and sisters are not overlooked in this crisis.

The name of the NGO in Nepal is Alliance Foundation International. Please take a moment to check out their website to see the type of ministry they typically do (helping rescue people from human trafficking).

The video contains some disturbing images from the disaster, which are hard to unsee, but I think it can be helpful to behold what the Nepali people and our brothers and sisters in faith are enduring right now.
